Long ago in Girah Village, there lived an old woman. Her name was
Calonarang. She had magical power. Calonarang had a daughter. Her name is
RatnaMangali. She was very beautiful. Yet, nobody wanted to marry her because
they were afraid of her mother.Peoplebegan
to talk about RatnaMangali. Calonarang didn’t like people talking about
her daughter. She loved RatnaMangali so much. When she heard people talking
about her daughter, she got angry. She cursed the village .People got ill and did. The king sent his best
soldiers to arrest Calonarang. But, they failed. Then, the king called
MpuBaradah. The king asked for his help. MpuBaradah sent his studentMpuBahula
to Gira Village. MpuBaradah told MpuBahula to propose RatnaMangali. Calonarang
was very happy when mpuBahula proposed
RatnaMangali. She knew that people would not talk about her daughter anymore.
Calonarang
gave her daughter a big wedding party. One day, MpuBahula asked RatnaMangali to
steal her mother’s magic book. When Calonarang was asleep,
RatnaMangalistole her mother’s magig book
and gave it have to her husband. Then MpuBahula gave the book to MpuBaradah. After he knew Calonarang’s magic
secret, MpuBaradah came to girah
Village. Calonarang andMpuBaradah had a
fight. Calonaranglost the fight because
she didn’t have her magigic book anymore.
